Boot Error (Can Start but not Boot)
When I try booting BT4 Final it says:
Boot Error
Press any key to restart
(it doesnt restart, it simply retries to boot)
PS: Add a General Section, im no new to backtrack, add some custom smylies, and please change the Whitee background, it looks un-backtrack : P
Just an opinion...
Re: Boot Error (Can Start but not Boot)
Are you trying to boot the livecd?
If so, depending on the type of computer you have, you might want to try adding this to the end of the boot options (Press <e>, highlight 'kernel' and press <e>):

Press enter to save the change, and then <b> to boot. Lemme know if this works for you.

PS. Uh no. We don't need a General Section this is not a general forum. We also don't care for "smilies' they are there due to it being a "feature" of vbulletin. If you don't like the back ground you can change it using the box in the lower left hand corner of every page. Now as for your error try actually providing some info, md5sum, hardware specs. etc.

Re: Boot Error (Can Start but not Boot)
Details:
I downloaded the BackTrack 4 Final Release (checksum is ok).
I followed this "howto" to creat the usb live : USB Live (under Ubuntu 9.10).
I set the primary boot on usb device on my Thinkpad T60.
When i boot on the usb live with my Thinkpad, i get a black screen with "Boot Error" and that's it.
The backtrack live usb is working on a eeepc4g.

Re: Boot Error (Can Start but not Boot)
ok i had this same problem like 4 times
1) I had to change the boot order in the bios
2) I had to use a different usb port
3) I had to use a different usb cord
4) when installing bt In advance options after selecting the partition I had to set it to boot and make sure the grub was in the right directory (or else it wont recognize it as a bootable device even if you set to boot)
ps I was using an external hd but double check these anyways
