bcm4312 on backtrack 4

Hi!

Yesterday i found myself in the same situation, here it is what i did:

-> this is the main problem... you should cd to '/usr/src/linux-source-2.6.29.4/' do a 'make menuconfig' (i did it, maybe it is not neccesary) and give it a 'make' command... this will run for some time but after then you will have the Module.symvers in place...

After this i tried to compile the broadcom linux_sta, but it gave me errors... for the 2.6.29.4 kernel you should download and apply a patch (same site where you can get the linux_sta driver).

I tried to compile the wl.ko module under the new 2.6.30.5 kernel as well, but no luck... if anyone did it plz share your knowledge :)

I've been trying to find a solution for my laptop wireless adapter since kernel 2.6.30.5 for BT4PR was released. But I have found nothing that works. I know that it won't work for auditing wireless networks, for which I have an USB dongle that works perfectly with total injection support, but for normal daily connection to my Internet router at home is more than enough.

To begin with, when I upgraded the kernel, when doing the "apt-get dist-upgrade", the broadcom-sta package was upgraded too, but the module that was packaged in it is for kernel 2.6.29.4. This is the result of "modinfo wl" after the upgrade:

So I decided to compile it myself using the instructions at http :// www . void . gr/kargig/blog/2009/07/18/trying-to-achieve-a-more-stable-hybrid-broadcom-wl-kernel-module-for-broadcom-4328 (Sorry but I can't post URLs yet...).

Everything compiles fine. I blacklisted the b43, ssb, b43legacy and bcm43xx modules. The module is loaded correctly but it doesn't create any interface. The problem is that a driver is being loaded somehow as can be seen from this "lspci -vnn":

Any interesting error messages in dmesg related to the wireless card?

Is the ieee80211 module loaded? If i remember correctly it should be loaded if you want wl.ko to work correctly. (sudo modprobe ieee80211_crypt_tkip)

I have the same broadcom card, i will try to check it with the new kernel as soon as i can...

I use the same laptop wich lcpsi result : [14e4:4315] (rev 01) which I think should't be able to work on injection and monitoring according to use of Aircrack-ng but I read somewhere I can patch the driver and use b43 to get injection working on ubuntu 9.xx but I couldn't fix it
I had to install Ubunti 10.04 which seems working but I can't make airodump-ng captures on mon0 (which is made by airmon-ng start wlan0), in fact no data is received (I uninstalled NetworkManager, WPA-Supplicant and Avahi-Daemon too because they made problems for airmon-ng)

the question is : IS B43 WORKING ON [14e4:4315] (rev 01) OR NOT ???!?!?

please somebody tell me is it possible to inject with new driver/patch b43 ?

You'll need at minimum kernel 2.6.32 at the very minimum with latest fwcutter and driver binary blob.
