Backtrack 4 Bootloader question

I just installed BT4 to my 8gig USB, Using the Install.sh file

I noticed that it put the Grub bootloader on my MBR.

If I dont have the flash drive in I get a Grub error and have to alt+ctrl+delete to reboot

But,
when I put the flashdrive in and boot up i can select to load vista

is this normal?

Will I always have to have the Flash Drive in to boot up vista, Unless I install BT4 on my HDD or do a Fix MBR?

Or if I install on the USB the same way as

Well,

Using the second install from the video

Everything boots fine, even when the usb drive isn't plugged in

But one thing

I cant save even when i pick persistent

any suggestions?
