add a xp user account

Hey guys,

Is there a way to add a user to a xp machine using backtrack. I do computer repair and a couple somehow managed to delete all their xp accounts. So when the computer boots up all you see is the blue login page with no accounts to pick. Formatting is the last option I want to do.

Not to get off topic but for that type of situation there is a excellent tool called the trinity rescue disk with a program called winpass. I'd check into that.

If you boot the PC into the blue login screen and hit Ctrl> Alt> Del a couple of times it will bring up a login box. Now type in administrator for username and leave password blank and hit enter.

Did you try F8 (safe mode), when the computer is booting up?

Thanks guys. Turns out pressing ctr+alt+del worked. The simplest solution is the best one. By the way purehate, winpass does not add accounts. It only resets their passwords.
