Not working sound, BT4 Acer Aspire 3692WLMi

Hi I have been using bactrack for only few weeks so I'm new to the topic. So far the major problem in my case is not working sound, I'm using Acer Aspire 3692 WLMi laptop and have been googling for weeks for a solution, so far no luck. Is there anyone who is using this laptop or any one who have a working solution?

What all problems you are facing,what all solutions you have tried.for getting a positive response on forums,put the detail description on problem & the steps taken by u.

Hi, I have managed to download and install alsa-utils, (before alcaconf was giving me: command not found), but now alsaconf now gives me "No legacy drivers are available"- is that mean there is no hope for sound in my laptop? I have attached a snapshots from alsaconf .

I would really appreciate if someone could help me with this one.

After a long night of searching for more info I have managed to get alsaconf working, steps I've fallowed:

1. Install alsa-driver:

2. Install alsa-lib:

3. Install alsa-utils:

After all last step (snapshot6.jpg) it did played a test sound so it proves that it's been installed and configured correctly- but :-(, yes another but.... when I'm trying to play a movie or music (mp3) I still get no sound and this time I just run out of ideas.

Thanks to a member of another forum.

So... after correct alsa installation and configuration one more step:

addgroup - Add a user group to the Directory Service database:

sudo addgroup "username" audio

---

then alsamixer- adjust volume, reboot and enjoy :-)
