Re: Intel Wifi Link Drivers not working
After some research and a little correspondence with Intel it turns out that the iwl-1000 series of cards never really worked in 2.6.31
This bug was fixed in the package linux - 2.6.31-11.38

Re: Intel Wifi Link Drivers not working
Hi, I had also exactly the same problem. Managed to get it working after trying a lot. Did a kernel upgrade (2.6.32.8) on BT4.
After that I downloaded the iwlwifi-1000-3.ucode from hxxp://intellinuxwireless.org/ and put these in /lib/firmware. After that my wifi link 1000 works perfectly and injection works also.
Re: Intel Wifi Link Drivers not working
so what do we need to do to start wlan0 ? ( intel wifi link 1000 )
How upgrade kernel or backtrack. I have it installed on USB flash ?
Re: Intel Wifi Link Drivers not working
I am having the same issues. Upfront I am quite the noob when it comes to linux and BT. However, I have installed to HDD BT4 Final on an HP tm2t with the Intel Wireless 1000 series. I am having the exact same issues as are posted in this thread. Compiling kernels and drivers are WAY above my head at this point. Anything else I can do rather than wait for a new kernel with BT? Orrrr...is there a nice little tutorial on updating the kernel?
I was really looking forward to using BT on my new toy. Now I am sad. Please help.
Re: Intel Wifi Link Drivers not working
Upgrading all the way to 2.6.32.8 will break your ability to use the OS in a mobile manner - remastersys doesn't take well to later kernels. In terms of getting iwlwifi functionality from 2.6.32.8 see my post regarding injection and the like for iwl devices - Injection on iwl5k.
