Every time that I try to boot backtrack 3, it freezes at enabling IRQ sharing. however, I can boot backtrack 2 perfectly. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Might wanna try the boot cheats from the wiki.
Using "bt acpi=off", I can get past my hangup. However, afterwards it takes me to a terminal where I am unable to use startx to launch KDE. Upon trying it tells me it was unable to detect any monitors.
Sure enough, there lies my problem. There was a misconfiguration in xconf. Thank you for all your time archangel.amael!
