Hi, I am new to Backtrack and wanted to try to install a live USB version on to a Kensington 4gb flash drive. Following the instructions on this site for installing Unetbootin to create the Live USB did not work. After Unetbootin finished installing Backtrack 4 final and was successful I rebooted, changed my BIOS, rebooted with the thumb drive in place. The laptop instantly found the thumb drive and began to boot to it. This is when the problem hit. I always come to a black screen with the word Boot: at the top left and a flashing cursor. No matter what I type the same response appears. After a few seconds the computer shuts down and then turns back on. It does not simply reboot it shuts OFF for a good 2 or 3 seconds. Anyway this is my issue right now. I have an HP Compaq 8510w Mobile Workstation (Here are general specs CLICK) running Ubuntu 9.10. I would like to have a Live USB version of backtrack instead of running vbox or partitioning my drive. Thanks for the help.
