ok, so i'm going out on a limb here and guessing that you're _only_ using the livedvd/usb, and not a hard disk install.

my tutorial was intended for people who run backtrack from either a hard drive or persistent usb install, as installing onto a livedvd or bootable (non-persistent) usb won't save your changes nor the files you downloaded. so of course your nvidia drivers and settings would go away when you reboot.

follow this guide to install bt4 to your usb drive as a live boot w/ persistent changes. (i linked outside of remote-exploit because the old forum page for bt4 beta was down). you shouldn't have any problems doing this; i took a peek at the walkthru and it looks fairly straight-forward and accurate. !!except!! use a bigger stick than 4 gigs; you'll need more space later. _then_ run through my tutorial again using your new persistent changes usb stick, and see if that makes a diffie in your life.

EDIT: balding_parrot has actually posted a video for a persistent usb install here: BackTrack 4 Persistent USB Install Video.
