hi, guys :)
in this"video-test" I wanted to try my little "nvidia gt 420m" working with CUDA
I state not to be an expert in general, even in the "my-wifi-wpa-crack." I read a little on the net and I did this test:
I caught my handshake and I gave in "meal" to Pyrit & Cowpatty (with CUDA "i think") using a dict.txt containing
NOT pre-computed password(the dict.txt was created specifically for my "type of router!" I hope I have done right!!!
if you want to watch: http://vimeo.com/32566152
thanks zimmaro

One tip: instead of "right-click > copy > right-click > paste", just select the text and press the mouse's mid-button where you want it to go (or press right and left buttons at the same time if you're using a touchpad). It's way faster.
One doubt: what's that "python-switcher" command about?

hi, snayler :)
I thank you for the advice!'ll put it into practice! (I will trouble because my fingers are BIG & my head are SMALL )ahahaha!
regarding the command python-switcher --python27 or 26
In MY laptop packard-bell easy-note tm85 with bt5r1 (kde) x64bit:
If "I remain in python27 pyrit-cuda works fine (nvidia GT420M) but I WICD crashes, sometimes recordmydesktop, and others who do not remember now."
To""normal""use (no CUDA) i'm switching python26 and everything works perfectly !!!!!( except pyrit-cuda)
I do not know if this is the right solution !!!!( I'm not expert) but so I can "work"
thanks for your interesting!:) Zimmaro

I have a new packard-bell too, ts11-hr-244pt, and pyrit cuda doesn't work either. I had it fixed on a previous install of BT5, but I had to re-format the whole computer so now I'm back to point zero. I'll investigate that solution and compare to the one I found, see which is better. Anyway, sorry about the slight off-topic.

I can confirm the python version and pyrit issue. For speed pyrit is superior and I like that I can organize my rainbow tables easily. It would be nice if pyrit expanded to other encryption schemes.

hi,guys :)
remaining in issue (without opening new topics):
I'm trying to use the "Pyrit Serve" in my lan between 2 PCs (A= "client NO CUDA") & (B = "server with CUDA")
1)i 'm turn off router firewall
2)i'm editing pyrit config in A

default_storage = file: / /
limit_ncpus = 0
rpc_announce = true
rpc_announce_broadcast = false
rpc_knownclients = 192.168.1.151 *IP SERVER with CUDA*
rpc_server = true
workunit_size = 75000

3) in B (with or without editing setting rpc_server = true / false [pyrit config]) When i'm run
root@bt:~# pyrit serve
Pyrit 0.4.1-dev (svn r308) (C) 2008-2011 Lukas Lueg http://pyrit.googlecode.com

4) while A get me:

#2: 'CPU-Core (SSE2)': 151.8 PMKs/s (RTT 3.0)
#3: 'Network-Clients': 0.0 PMKs/s (RTT 0.0)

I read on the net (pyrite website, mailings & other) I can not tell if
- is my problem (as I said above Snayler about my "my Pyrit-Cuda only work on python2.7 & & wicd Sometimes crash)?
- if I made some mistakes in setting?
- is it a problem / Pyrite / or / bt5r1x64/or /or python in kernel?

if I remember correctly "in the days of pre-BT4" (only32bit) I could!!but i'm not remember how !!!!!
sorry if you understand a little but I'm a italian goat!! thanks:)

yes this is normal as it's a bug in Pyrit 0.4.1-dev (svn r308) we will have to wait for them to update the code

jenbo thanks:)
I thank you for the "clarification" "I suspect" wait and hope!
bye!

Try using oclhashcat-plus to crack WPA/WPA2, it's 10 times faster, here's a demo of me cracking my WPA2 PSK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAWlpyN8-fw

its been months since I have touched anything to do with wep/wpa.
so with oclhashcat-plus is it possible to use crunch or something like it to pass-through a generated word list

last time I cracked my own wpa key I make it like my phone #
12223339999 (example phone #)
I set it up somewhat like this
1222@@@@@@@
it would start at 0000000 and end at 9999999. it was more of a test of how fast pyrit/crunch worked with my gpu.

:)
in my OCLHASHCAT (v0.4) + max supported characters in "hash" 14
my WPA-TKIP (in the video) have 24 chars!:)

hello, i just tried following your video that you had setup very informative by the way, i am very new at BT. and while following your video; when i tried entering python-switcher --27 i got

[-] Fixing [-]
done.

then i tried pyrit benchmark and got

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "usr/local/bin/pyrit", line 4 in <module>
import pyrit_cli
ImportError: No module named pyrit_cli

then just plain pyrit and got the same message and unfortunately i have no idea what that means because of my inexperience,how do i resolve this issue? would greatly appreciate it

hi,:)
the python-switcher is not required!
I am obliged to use it because in MY installation BT5-r1 (kdex64bit) is the only way (for now) [my little experience that knows] to run PYRIT-CUDA ..
check if your installation: CUDA drivers, CUDA-pyrite, etc. .. everything is ok!
look at the wiki: http://www.backtrack-linux.org/wiki/index.php/CUDA_On_BackTrack
maybe you do not have python-switched!

ps: I can not tell if my problem is a 64bit,... my "" "Hardware" "" or a bug in pyrit-cuda, or... bt .... I know they are not alone in having to perform this maneuver to make it work!
regards zimmaro the g0at-brain!:)
