Freezing caused by hald-addon-stor

Backtrack 3 Final always freezes on my laptop. Sometimes it freezes after 10 minutes, other times I'll get 2 hours out of it, but it always freezes eventually.

Anyway, I started running "conky" in the background to see if I could catch the process that was hogging the CPU (thanks to pynstrom for the tip), and I found out that it was hald-addon-stor.

I did a quick Google search of hald-addon-stor and got countless hits on people having trouble with it freezing their computer.

Has anyone here had a problem with hald-addon-stor in Backtrack 3 Final? If so, do you know how to fix it?

Any ideas anyone?

You haven't mentioned the specifications of your computer.

I suspect its some hardware that hald was looking for which causes it to go into forever loop. Maybe a device all of the sudden doesn't respond well or something..

It could even be usb hard drive issues.
