search a compat-wireless and iwl4965 patch for some injection in web use the compat-wireless of intel-linux wireless ;)

If it doesn't work, google for it, if there's no support go buy a supported card.. how hard is that? unless you have one of those HP/IBM laptops, then you should go buy supported express card and/or supported usb dongle.

Just because you have a brand spanking new laptop, it doesn't mean there will be support from linux right off the bat. This isn't microsoft where almost everything has to pass through them.

Even if you do have a restricted laptop, you can find compatible wireless cards easy. I just upgraded my think pad with an IBM 42T0825, an Atheros 5008.

5100 is able to go in monitor mode. you ha ve to patch your kernel. i can't post URL. but try to search "Intel Wireless Wi-Fi 5100 Card injection OK" in GOOGLE.

If Intel 5100 isn't supported, I'm glad i haven't snatched the Intel 5300 for the IBM think pad.. (waiting for black friday to buy my laptop.) Should I just by the cheap Intel 4950 and just upgrade to atheros/working card?
