I've been thinking the same thing. Just can't get it yet. :( I've had every other way to get consumer broadband. As far as raw download speed, satellite has been the fastest. It was just too laggy to use for online gaming. Cable and DSL has been plenty fast for online gaming, but I've never seen anything faster than 1.5MBs for downloads, and I've never payed for anything slower than 5MB. Though we're really just paying for a fast connection back to the isp, after that it could be dialup.

So far so good with the eeepc and 3Final.

Just as a side note to the eeepc users don't try to keep the changes folder from your bt3beta and expect everything to work. Just follow the tutorial here (http://forums.remote-exploit.org/showthread.php?t=12183)on the forums or just do what Barry posted above.

Yea, I just deleted everything on my BT3beta partitions. Made a new changes folder on the changes(ext2) partition, and copied the boot and bt folders to the boot(fat32) partition.

Works on The Box as well. :) I'm digging the new default page in firefox.

Stikfas guys are cool! :D There's a general run down of The Box on my web site, just recently fixed to render correctly with FF3.... Stupid javascript... I'm not using vesa, using the KDE graphics mode. The only thing I changed with my syslinux.cfg was to move the KDE section to the top so it was default, added my changes info and changed vga=0x317 to vga=0x311. That was just to make that goofy message to go away.

hmmm, so am assuming the only way now to modify BT3 Final_USB is through persistent changes?

I dont know much about iso images, but I think one can unpack them, modify the content and then put them back to iso again?

Yes, you can do that. That was necessary for myself and a few others to save the configs that enables compiz for BT3b onto the LiveDVD.

Just a quick question as I could not find my answer after reading through multiple forums here.

I noticed that the bt3_usb download file is larger then the bt3_cd version. Why is the usb version larger then the cd version ? Is there more features/programs in the usb version ?

Just to confirm, will the bt3_usb install to a hard drive ? Will the bt3_cd version also install to a usb drive ?

thanks.

The USB version is bigger to accomodate for compiz and a couple other things. yest the USB version will install to a hard drive; as far as the cd -to- usb instal, I've nbever done it but I don't see why you couldn't.

The server is most likely just under heavy load. Seeing as 60 kb/s isn’t really that slow you most likely have completed the download already rendering this post pretty much useless.

Seeing as the largest file, the USB version at 784 Mb, should take less than 4 hours to download at 60 kb/s and that it is roughly 12 hours between your two posts I really can't see how this is possible.

your download speed is not a problem for these forums or this thread..just download it however long it takes and be done with it..

i download it at 500-800kbs a sec so there's nothing wrong with the server..

also there's been more than 150,000 downloads and no one but you has complained about the download speed
